The Sanctuary on the Green Arts, Cultural & Community Alliance (SOGA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
SOGA is dedicated both to preserving this historic Sanctuary, and to promoting the arts, culture and community programming in Bloomfield and the greater Essex County community.
Your contributions will ensure that the Sanctuary on the Green continues to be “the single most identifiable symbol” of Bloomfield’s rich history and continues to serve as a gathering place for Bloomfield’s diverse community.

Our Capital Campaign
We are delighted to announce that as of September, 2026, the Joint Capital Campaign has surpassed its initial goal of $350,000 in gifts received and pledged! The campaign included both the repair of our historic 19th-century Steeple Clock and improvements to the Sanctuary.
When the campaign was launched, the primary focus was on interior improvements to the Sanctuary. Further analysis of the building’s needs, however, led to a decision to perform structural stabilization work and defer interior improvements to a later phase. The Sanctuary work will begin in the fall of 2026. Restoration of the Steeple Clock is underway.
The actual cost of the structural stabilization and clock restoration is greater than initially projected, but remains within reach. We are deeply grateful to all who have generously supported this undertaking. We do ask everyone who pledged to the campaign to fulfill their commitment in the coming months.

Rentals and Programs
The Sanctuary on the Green, while maintaining its identity as a sacred space, is available for rentals as an arts and community space.
SOGA will also produce original programming including lectures on Bloomfield history, architecture, and historic preservation; tours of the Sanctuary and the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on the Green campus; art festivals, concerts, poetry readings, original play readings, and so much more.
